A lot of initiatives are taking place at XLRI. First is its plan to launch a new Global MBA program by June 2013. This program is in partnership with Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western University in USA and with School of Economics and Management of Tongji University, in China. This would be a 2 year residential course, with modules in India, China and USA. Selection criteria will vary for each school- XLRI plans to use it XAT, while Weatherhead School of Management will use the GMAT and the Shanghai based, School of Economics & Management of Tongji University will use its own criteria.
Initial enrollment will be for 60 students representing all 3 countries.
XLRI also revealed a new logo identity, that demonstrates XLRI’s clear focus and direction, and a desire to grow globally. The school’s director E Abraham S J has said that , “This is for the first time in 62 years that we are undergoing a complete image makeover. We have spent about Rs 20 lakh for the brand makeover process. The new logo is a modern and stylised representation of the earlier one”.
Among other plans, XLRI is actively reaching out to its alumni network for endowments to bring up new campuses at Jamshedpur and in Delhi. Both of these will add 120 students each to the existing class size of 240.
