Essays for Kellogg MBA 2018 application have not changed since last year. Both the essays are reflective and require applicants to deeply think through their experiences, what they learned out of them and how they grew as better individuals and professionals.

Deadlines:

R1 – SEPT 19, 2018
R2 – JAN 9, 2019
R3 – APRIL 10, 2019

 Kellogg Essay Questions:

  1. Kellogg’s purpose is to educate, equip & inspire brave leaders who create lasting value.  Tell us about a time you have demonstrated leadership and created lasting value.  What challenges did you face, and what did you learn? (450 words)
  2. Pursuing an MBA is a catalyst for personal and professional growth. How have you grown in the past? How do you intend to grow at Kellogg? (450 words)
  3. Optional Essay: If needed, use this section to briefly describe any extenuating circumstances (e.g. unexplained gaps in work experience, choice of recommenders, inconsistent or questionable academic performance, etc.) (no word count)
  4. Re-applicants: Since your previous application, what steps have you taken to strengthen your candidacy? (250 word limit)
  5. Video Interview: Kellogg is among the first business schools to introduce the video interview. You will complete this a few days within submitting your application. There are three questions. One is an ice-breaker question, the second is about your future career plans and why MBA, while the third is a randomly generated question.

Other Application Components:

2. Recommendations: two recommendations are required. One of these should ideally be from a direct supervisor. If you are unable to get one from a direct supervisor, explain the reason in the additional section of the application.

3. Undergrad: Kellogg requires a 4 year undergrad degree, but also accepts a three year degree.

4. GMAT or GRE

5. TOEFL: You will be exempted from taking TOEFL if English was the only language of instruction at your undergrad institution.

6. Application fee is $250

7. Interview: Kellogg is one among the few business schools that gives every applicant an opportunity to interview. After you submit your application, you can request for an on-campus interview. The other option is to wait for an interview invite to be sent by the business school for an off-campus interview, which is conducted by an alumnus.

Reapplication: If you are a reapplicant, you must submit a new application. You need to submit a resume and an updated transcript, atleast one new recommendation letter, the essay questions and the reapplicant essay.
