Darden has a range of Marketing Club activities and events for those students interested in marketing. The club is a great platform to build relationships and network with other students, alumni as well as marketing professionals.
Here’s what Darden’s student blogger and President of the Marketing Club, Jay Adoue has : “The Marketing Club is constantly looking for opportunities to provide our members more exposure to a broad array of companies. Fortunately, a broad array of companies already looks to Darden to find strong, well-rounded marketers with an enterprise perspective”.
The Marketing Club holds some interesting events like the annual Brand Challenge, which brings together more than 400 students, faculty, and members of the local community to test products ranging from shoes to cars, and give their feedback, which is then compiled by the competing teams ( around 20 with 5-6 students each) to present a recommendations’ report to the corporate brand team.
Jay further talks about events put up by the Marketing Club, like the first annual case competition, in partnership with GE, where , “Twenty teams composed of five First Year MBAs competed to develop a recommendation around an actual GE business challenge”.
Similarly, there is an annual Marketing Forum that brings together marketing professionals to discuss the current issues affecting them. The theme this October was “Digital Age Marketing in an Experience Economy”.
